The Truth and "X-Ray" lead the Celtics past the Lakers in Game 1

Boston's Paul Pierce made a heroic recovery by shaking off a sprained knee and scoring 22 points—11 after getting hurt in the third quarter—to lead Boston to a 98-88 victory on Thursday night over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 of a tradition-rich and super-hyped NBA finals. As usual Garnett held his own but perhaps the deciding factor was that they were able to contain Kobe and Ray Allen did his thing adding 19 points. In this series with the Gasol / Garnett / Kobe / Pierce matchups garnering the most gameplay attention the deciding or "X-Factor" will probably be Ray Allen. If he continues to have good games it could prove all the difference in the series. He Got Game.
