Bo knows Banking ?

It used to be that we knew Bo Jackson for his Tecmo Bowl heroics, running up the outfield wall and for his "Bo Knows Everything" commercials.

Now we might start to know him as the guy willing to loan us a few bucks.

On Tuesday, the legendary two-sport athlete was among a group of investors that cut the ribbons on The Burr Ridge Bank and Trust in the Chicago suburbs where Bo lives. He's on the bank's board of directors and is said to be "rolling up his sleeves" and working among everyone else to make sure the small bank becomes a success during tough financial times.

Ok, so here's my thing. I like Bo, Bo is cool, but what exactly qualifies him to handle my money ? Does he have an MBA in Finance or something ? I'm not knocking the brother but how come every time somebody "famous" (well not every time but a lot of the time) does something they've never done it's cool and people buy into it just because ? Why do we feel that people that are famous or have money "know" how to do things that are in no way related to what they are known for ? Take Steve Harvey for example with his new book. Why do we give him so much credit as a expert on the subject of women ? There are plenty of regular people that say the same stuff he says and give just as good advice. Does he have an PhD in females or something ? And besides that do I really want a guy that's been divorced a bunch of times giving me relationship advice ? This has always interested me but anyway we'll see how this pans out for good ole Bo. He's a gourmet chef and a Heisman winner so maybe that translates into handling millions of dollars. If not then I guess we gonna be saying Bo knows Bankrupcy.

Shaq calls out Suns rookie center Lopez

O'Neal and Lopez had an animated talk during a break late in Thursday's loss in Portland.

"Put somebody on their (expletive) back," O'Neal said he told Lopez. "Don't let anybody oopsy-doopsy layup on you and be laughing at you. Have you ever seen me get dunked on? No, because I put (expletive) on their backs. Period. "If you're going to be a big man, be a big man. Don't be out there (expletive) around. Lay somebody on their (expletive) back. Period. Wilt (Chamberlain) told me that. Bill Russell told me that. Hakeem (Olajuwon) told me that. All the great big men told me that. . . . That's what I'm trying to teach him, instead of just being out there like a loose tree blowing in the wind. Do something."

O'Neal called Lopez "the future."

He's got to toughen up," he said. "Step up. He's got some big shoes to fill because after I'm done, it's his turn."
