Krypto-Nate

Well it looks as though Superman has been defeated at the hands of Lex Luthor in the form of Nate Robinson in this years Slam Dunk Contest. Nate donned his all green "Kryptonite" suit and ball then proceeded to jump over Dwight "Superman" Howard for the final and winning dunk.
I have to give it to Nate, he did his thing although after he dunked and started doing the "Superman that Ho" dance I felt like I was watching Leprechaun in the Hood. I'm a fan of Dwight Howard and everything but this year he just didn't bring his A-Game. He once again donned his "Superman" cape and even came out of a phone booth this time. He get's an A for presentation. On that particular dunk attempt he had them bring out a 12-foot goal and caught a pass off the backboard from Jameer Nelson and dunked it. As impressive as that sounds it didn't quite do him much justice. I find it kinda strange that he was allowed to do this when he tried to do the same thing last year and the league told him no. Judging by the overall weak contest this year it appears they were probably desperate and let them do what they wanted. During the contest LeBron James told Cheryl Miller that he will be entering the 2010 Slam Dunk contest and challenge Nate Robinson so we'll have to see how that plays out. As interesting as some of this stuff is it's starting to get more and more like Wrestling. LeBron might as well had challenge him to a Wedding Dress Cage match blindfolded. We'll see what happens.

Clash of the Titans pt. 2

Well not exactly. The Lakers put an end to the Cavs 23-0 record at home by beating them 101-91 on yesterday. Everyone was real hyped about this game because it featured the leagues top 2 MVP candidates going head to head. With Kobe and LeBron both coming off monster performances at the Garden this game was looking to be quite a show out. Well unfortunately it wasn't and the game actually turned out to be an actual Lakers vs. Cavs game instead of a Kobe vs LeBron highlight reel. This Sunday must have felt like Any Given Sunday to Kobe cause he pulled a Willie Beaman and threw up before the game from having the Flu. He finished with 19 points but spent most of the game on the bench wrapped up in towels going "I'm so cold". LeBron wasn't sick but his game musta been. Picking up the slack from Kobe being down was Lamar Odom who gave an outstanding performance. If he played like this more consistently the Lakers would be even more of a problem. Odom, Gasol and company did an excellent job of containing King James on defense and were able to pull off some great plays on the offensive end. The game was still kinda close down to the final minutes but the Cavs just couldn't seal the deal. Even when they employed their usual "Ok we're about to lose so lets give LeBron the ball and everybody get off the court and let him go 1 on 5 against the other team but yet he's a team player" offense they didn't prevail.

Madison Square Motel ?

It seems that way cause the Knicks seemed to get banged on every night. First Kobe puts up 61 (which is an NBA record for the Garden) and now LeBron scores 50 on top of having a triple-double. What next, D-Wade comes through and drops 70 ??? Everybody seem to be getting off on the Knicks at the Garden these days. They might need to change the name from Madison Square Garden to Madison Square Motel since everybody comes just to F*ck the Knicks and leave. They lay up(baskets), busts a couple (shots), then run (back down court) hahahaha. I bet Spike Lee was courtside having a conniption. Maybe they should have put Starbury in to save the day. The Knicks play Boston this coming Friday so we'll see if that becomes one big Green and White orgy.
